He is the author of several books, including Cities and Their Stories, The League of Nations School Book, Towards a New Education, and a History of Postwar Burma. He is the third Secretary-General of the United Nations and his name is listed in who’s who in the 21st century.

Two Famous quotes by U Thant.

Every human being, of whatever origin, of whatever station, deserves respect. We must each respect others even as we respect ourselves.

Wars begin in the minds of men, and in those minds, love and compassion would have built the defenses of peace.
