A SHORT NOTE FROM COURSE DEVELOPER

The lessons in this book are designed and written for students who major in International Trade and Technology and Business English. Most of the lessons are topic based and very short for the reason that the lessons should not be enigmatic to students. There are three columns in every lesson - text and activities, materials used for activities, and time limit for every single session - through out class hour. The lessons and activities are appropriate to be used only for Oral English class.

It is a pivotal matter that the teacher should render adequate time to students prior to teaching any lesson from this book otherwise they may find adamantine to do the activities well in the classroom whereas the primary raison d’etre of the lesson is to practice well in the classroom. It is advisable that students should be given two weeks to prepare for every lesson. Every single word and all the questions should be apprehended beforehand which will enable students to do debate, analyze, interpret, discuss, do pair works and individual presentment in the class using their own English easily. Students would not gain the skills they need if they did not have a savvy knowledge on the text and questions or topics. Therefore, giving them ample time to prepare for the lesson will help students succeed in their learning.

Oral English class is not the same as any other subjects teaching class.  It is encouraged that the teacher uses egalitarianism and gives equal opportunity and equal time limits to speak the English language to all the students in the classroom. No one should be left behind in making them to practice their oral English skills during class hour. Time management in the classroom is the most important part of teaching oral English.  Give enough time to students to practice their English during class hour rather than speaking to the class all the time. That is the reason why giving them enough time to students to practice the lessons well in advance before coming to class is crucial because it will give them the courage to do the activities very well, and to speak English in the classroom with good pronunciation, intonation, mood and action.

Finally, oral English teacher is responsible for mistake corrections in every class to see what kind of grammatical drillings students would need to meliorate their English speaking skills. In this case, natural English should be used rather than teaching them traditional grammatical order.

                                                                                       INSTRUCTION TO STUDENTS

·Students are strongly advised to come to the classroom well prepared the lesson.
·Use dictionary to learn new words from the text.
·Get to know the main idea of the text and try to comprehend all the questions and debate topics.
·Don’t just read the paper when you do debate or discussion in the classroom. Use your own English when telling others about what
you feel and what your perspective is.
·There are around 1000 English words, idioms and business slang words for business students in the lessons. Using those words is
encouraged when you do in-class activities.
·Students should give the best of their works and oral presentations in the classroom, so, practice in groups, pairs, and alone before
coming to the class is necessary.
·Students who want to change the lesson should inform the teacher two weeks in advance, otherwise, changing lesson option will
  not be granted.
·Teacher will not explain the meaning of every word in the text and topics in the classroom unless there is someone who has
  question to some doubts.
